Therapy Style

Starting therapy can be difficult and scary, but it can also be the first step towards a better life. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed by their thoughts and emotions. Through therapy, we work together to understand the root of these difficulties and achieve insight and growth.

I view therapy as a road trip that we take together. You drive the car, while I hold the road map. I'm here to support you and help you navigate any roadblocks you encounter along the way.

My approach to therapy is personalized and based on each client's individual needs. I believe that everyone is unique and shaped by their cultural background, family, beliefs, and experiences of privilege and oppression. As such, I focus on understanding your life circumstances and developing treatment goals collaboratively.  Because our "road trip" requires trust, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and make space for my clients to reconnect with their authentic selves.

Education & Experience

I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA.  I have over a decade of experience providing individual therapy to diverse populations and have treated a variety of mental health concerns.  Much of my early career was spent working in university counseling settings.  I worked in many roles at Towson University's Counseling Center across 7 years and was the Assistant Director and Clinical Director of the Center for my last 3 years at TUCC.  I also participated on the Executive Board for The Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services (ACCCCS) as their Research and Evaluation Officer.

 

In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, playing video games, hiking, and traveling.
